ASCO 8000A Paralleling Switchgear — 480V Containerized, 4 Generator Sections, Siemens WL

ASCO Power Technologies generator paralleling switchgear, job 8510P, built 2005 for a bank disaster recovery data center. Rated 8000A bus, 480/277V three-phase four-wire, 60Hz, with Siemens WL low-voltage power circuit breakers on CubicleBUS throughout — 3200A frames on the generator sections and 4000A on the feeders, 150kA symmetrical at 480V. The lineup runs ten sections across 28 feet 2 inches: four generator sections sized for 1500kW sets with the fourth position never used, a master synchronizing section, a load bank section, and four feeder breakers, one of which was never energized. Everything is housed in a walk-in outdoor container with interior lighting and ASCO control and metering panels. The container conveys with the gear and the whole assembly comes off the building as a single crane pick, so it can be set on a pad without building an e-house. The previous owner ran quarterly maintenance and exercised the system twice a year until the site was decommissioned in 2025; the last electrical testing on file is August 2014 by Eastern High Voltage.
